Middle School Students Compete in Stock Market Game
Four of our middle school students participating in the Stock Market Game ranked in the top 5% and top 10% of the Kansas teams. Ben Coke and Eli Aziere placed 11th out of 1,028 teams and Eighth Graders Joey Bergeson and Pranav Reddy placed 85th. This accomplishment is quite impressive because almost 650 of the teams competing last semester were high school students.
The Stock Market Game (SMG), administered by the KS Council for Economic Education, is a semester-long competition which provides fundamental understanding of investing while providing them with real world skills practice in math, English Language Arts, economics, and social studies. The Stock Market Game, taught by Mr. McIntire, is offered in the Independent Middle School as part of the school's Explore curriculum.
