The Boys' Swim Team had an incredible showing on Tuesday at the Topeka Hayden Invite—arguably the best performance in Independent Boys Swimming history.
Against a competitive field of large schools from Kansas City and Topeka, the boys won both the 200 free relay (Edward Sturm, Daniel Jekov, Juan Lillig, and Aidan Scott) and the 400 free relay (Edward Sturm, George Jekov, Matthew Janssen, and Aidan Scott) setting new school records in both. In addition to his record-breaking performance in the relays, Aidan Scott also broke his own school records and took first in both the 50 free and the 100 free. Other notable performances include 2nd and 3rd in the 500 free (George Jekov, Daniel Jekov); 2nd in the 100 fly (Edward Sturm); 2nd and 3rd in the 100 breast (Matthew Janssen, Juan Lillig); 2nd in the 100 back (Daniel Jekov).
Congratulations to the entire team for many personal best and a fantastic meet!

Edward Sturm and Malar Muthukumar were undefeated at 5-0 and took second place out of 30 teams in the open division. Natalie Johnson and Madison Martin were also undefeated and took third. Peter Daood and Peyton Reynolds were 4-1 and finished 4th. Judah Hansen and Julia Douglas took 5th place at 4-1. The team has one more regular season tournament before heading to regionals and state.
