Literacy Champions Travel To Topeka
The Independent School Literacy Champions were invited to the capitol. They met and discussed with students from other high schools about issues in education, how to advocate for political change and were recognized for their work as Literacy Champions with approved resolutions on the Senate and House floors.
National Honor Society Volunteer at Ronal McDonald Houses
Independent National Honor Society students volunteered at the local Ronald McDonald Houses by organizing supplies, cleaning and donating items to their food pantry. Ronald McDonald House Charities provide safe, temporary housing, amenities and emotional support for sick children and their families.
Students Develop Optimal Performance Social Media Plan
As part of their marketing class Lauren Cayless and Chase Bowman have partnered with Optimal Performance to develop a social media plan geared toward high school and college aged athletes. By using Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter, they hope to increase awareness of the fitness center and the services they offer.
Students Visit Evans Ceramic Supply
The Upper School ceramics class recently visited Evans Ceramic Supply, a third generation, family-owned business. The students learned about manufacturing and were excited to check out the glaze products and tools. [Ceramics]
