HOMEWORK CLUB

Students will have the opportunity to complete their homework with a teacher nearby. Should your child not have homework, they will have the opportunity to do guided reading with a teacher, improve reading fluency, work on math fact fluency, or play games to enhance their learning. 


MAKERSPACE

Makerspaces are fun and creative DIY spaces where students (and adult mentors!) gather to create, invent, and learn! this collaborative community celebrates an open-ended culture of creativity, innovation, and experimentation, melding diverse disciplines - math, science, art, craft, engineering, green design, music, and more - into ambitious projects. Join the club and come to our Makerspace! This will be an open opportunity for students to come in with projects in mind and have the chance to use our tools and work and play.

ROBOTICS 1A

Robotics is not the wave of the future.  Robotics is here today.  From manufacturing and supply chain to medicine, space exploration, and even our homes and driveways, robots are here to stay.  For our kids, knowledge and familiarity with robots, how they think, operate, and how to interact with them will be as essential as computers are to our generation.  This class will introduce basic concepts in robotics, logic, sensors, movement and navigation.

¡Hola amigos! Explore the Spanish-speaking world and our community in Club Español! Each week we will connect to the cultures of Latin America, Peninsular Spain, or the local and global community with the help of Maestra Ady Cabrera, teacher and native Mexican Spanish speaker. In Club Español, you will learn and perform dances for Hispanic Heritage Month, create crafts and art like a sugar skull for Day of the Dead, prepare and taste hispanic foods to share with your families and connect with the local and global community through special service projects like Adopt-A-Family and The Pulsera Project.

This session will be all about making and playing with slime. (I'll sneak some science and math in there, too!!) Children will learn about formulas, chemical reactions, and have fun with ooey, gooey fun!
